My new puppy is a Puggle her name is Pasha and I am getting her in a week. I have never had a dog on my own before and I am so excited. I've gotten all the little nesscessities that I need for her toys, food, leash, collar, tags, already scheduled her well puppy check up ect. Does anyone have any advice on bringing home a new puppy? I would love to hear any advice. She's gonna be my baby and I want to make sure I make her feel as comfortable as I can when she gets here.
Crate - I was skeptical about crating at first, but really cratetraing helps make housebreaking smoother, provides your pup with her own special safe place to relax, and helps relieve stress when boarding, at the vets overnight, or the groomers.
Cozy pet bed
Pet Odor Eliminator with Enzyme - for the inevitable messes
Pet brushes - to get her used to grooming, for a puggle coat I like the kong zoom brush
Toenail clippers - although for the first few months I would still have the groomer cut them
Puppy taining books - start early! The earlier you start the better
Well when she first gets there dont go showing her off to everyone or having alot of people coming around because she still isn't sure about it and having more people she doesnt know come over will just stress, and scare her. Let her walk around a little and get to know you and the people she will be with most, THESE are the people she need to bond with and know they are ok and THEN you can introduce her to new people. Good Luck!
Congradulations. I know you are so excited. Be sure and put her on a good brand dog food. None of this junk grocery stores sell and even some food that Petsmart and Petco sell is not good. Do your homework.
