Hi this cat is obviously stressed, the next step could be spraying, before this happens you can go to an herbal store and buy a bottle (1 oz) of Bachs Rescue remedy. this is an herbal remedy to add to the the cat's water , you can even use it. you just use three drops. It has the effect of chamomile tea. this may help. How long have the cats been together?
"I am totely against "fixing" pet Every house pet we have come from animals that were NOT neuterd. If we all "fixed" our cats they will soon be extinced."
That is, without a doubt, just about the STUPIDEST thing I have ever heard said about cats!!! Have you been to your local shelter lately? I can tell you that in my area, ALL shelters are overrun with cats! One shelter alone has 400+ cats. The other, well over 200. They even offer special incentives to get people to adopt cats because there is simply not enough room and not enough money to care for them all. You might want to do a little research before spouting off like that. It because of ignorant people like you that we have too many cats and not enough people to care for them.
The average dog is a nicer person than the average person.
How long have you had the new cat? You do realize that it takes 2 weeks or more for a cat to adjust to their new surroundings, right? I had a cat that I got as a full grown adult and we did not even see him for the first two weeks. He hid under furniture and in closets, where ever he felt safe from the strangers (us). He only came out after we were all asleep or gone from the house to eat and use the litter box. "To a dog, you are family. To a cat you are staff". The cat is in charge of who he likes and when he wants to be petted or held, let him decide, you cannot force him to get along with the other cats or like being held and petted. Just give him the time and space he needs to adjust.
Go head Catlover! I agree with you. Catclyde must be insane. I had my male cat fixed when he was 6 months old. I never got my female cat fixed because they were both indoor-so I knew my male wouldnt knock her up. MY BAD-because not having female cats spayed increases there risk of breast cancer dramatically...And unfortunately my female cat got breast cancer. I had the surgery to have it removed & pray it won't come back. If I would have gotten her fixed when she was younger....the risk of her getting breast cancer would have been much lower. So I agree with you CatLover. As for probs w/new cat-----all baby kittens act crazy. Get over it & enjoy your new baby. They will eventually all get along. Try giving it a bong hit.
So by CatClydes logic, humans are also going to go extinct because of people like my sister, two aunts, one uncle, and a dozen or so friends that have chosen not to have children. Puh-leeze. Opinions are great and everyone is entitled to theirs, but I agree that Clyde needs to spend some time in one of the many overcrowded shelters and brush up on some statistics about the feral cat population, the number of unowned pets euthenized every day, and the health benefits to pets from spaying and neutering (it wouldn't hurt him to brush up on his spelling either). Opinions should be derived from information and not blatant ignorance.
As I see it this arguening leads to nothing. I wont convince you how bad it is to 'spay' a cat and you most definently wont convince me that there is nothing wrong with 'spaying' a cat. anyway that is my belief so why dont you just respect it.
