I might be stressing out for nothing. My baby just got spayed today, she has not eaten since last night before midnight. I picked her up at 4 this afternoon and she has no interest in eating anything. She ate two bites of some canned food I had but has not touched her kibble. Is it from the stress of the surgery? When should I start getting concerned?
Whenever my animals have had anesthesia the vet has always told me not to allow food or water for several hours and then to put some down later but they may not want any. (I've had 2 spays and one emergency stitches under anesthesia for my girls in the last 4 months) I know that I personally have never felt like eating later that day when I have had anesthesia. Is she doing better today? She should be slowly getting back to her normal eating and drinking today.
Yes she is doing alot better today. She ate this moring, and went potty. She wouldn't go potty yesterday after I brought her home. Thanks for all the advise. I know when ever I went under anesthisia i didn't feel like eating either. I figured that was probably the issue, but I just wanted to make sure. The vet tech didn't mention anything about her eating when I picked her up.
