i just adopted a really fat cat named trouble and my dog is 17 pounds and really hyper, but i thought the cat could handle its self. my dog got really excited when i brought him home and he jumps all over it and i was just watching them and the cat grabbed him with bolth arms and started rolling it around and playing with it like my dog was a cat. and when it had enough of him the cat would chase him away. its the cutest thing ever and now they nap together. trouble is very happy in his new home.

Oh my. Ignore that Clyde dude, he's just trying to make trouble on the boards. That's amazing! I wish my cat was still fat, but due to age she lost some weight. I also wish my pets got along that good. Sometimes my dog tries to play with the cats {but he's like 80lbs} and they hiss at him and run away. I'm glad you adopted a cat. (: I plan on adopting all the animals that I get for the rest of my life.

aw lol my cat isnt fat. he just has a little belly lol.but this is wicked funny he was out side and hid under my boyfriends truck i think he was on something under there my boyfriend drove all the way to work, and was there for 9 hours then when he walked to his truck he herd it meowing. i was amazed he didnt die and he also climbs on the roof then gets stuck and cant get down we decided to name him trouble.

Your cat isnt fat? Then sorry I made the mistake of thinking that he was fat ilovemybug.

BUT iluffmykitty on the other hand. It is unhealthy for a cat to be fat and for heavens sake I AM NOT TRYING TO CAUSE TROUBLE! You just caused trouble by rudly attacking me that way.
{Oh my. ignore that Clyde dude} My gosh, I was simply giving a friendly health tip, I hope that you dont talk like that to the vet.

yah im sure my cats pretty normal now hes getting more excersice but when i adopted him he was on the beafy side lol. my aunt had a cat that weighed 22 pounds it also lived till 17 though. but thanks for your concernn im not mad

My cat is 19 lbs, and he cries when his food bowl isn't full to the brim, do you think he has a weight problem? How do I get him to loose wait? Should I put a leash on him and put him on the treadmill?

Kittypotpie, it depends on your cat. Your vet can tell you if 19lbs is a healthy weight for him. I use to have a cat that was 17lbs, and the vet said he was just fine, and could even stand to gain a few pounds. It would be funny to see a cat on a treadmill. They probably make them just for cats these days. Whith all us cat lovers, they make kitty versions of everything!

I have 5 rescued cats and also rescue Bullmastiff dogs. I also have a Chihuahua and my husband has a Rat Terrier.All the animals get along just fine and sleep together. When we brought the Chi home he weighed 12 ounces and fit in the palm of my hand, our youngest cat, Mitz decided it was her job to take care of the puppy. She will put him in a head lock if he doesn't stay still while she grooms him, he is a long haired Chi and I never have to brush him, Mitz even makes sure his ears are clean.When he started the puppy biting phase she quickly taught him how hard a bite he could get away with before she would cuff him up the side of the head, if that didn't make him stop she would hold him down and bite him until he yelped! We didn't have any problems with him wanting to grab our hands. I have a 22 pound cat I got from the Humane Society, he was 26 pounds when I adopted him and they said he was a stray. I have never seen a stray cat that heavy. Buddha is a orange stripe and white ex tom cat. My vet laughed the first time he saw him and said I had found the Bullmastiff of cats. He has a huge head and is very large boned. I have never seen a domestic cat any larger than he is. He loves all children and will follow them around waiting for them to pick him up. He has no fear of dogs and doesn't run from any thing. Hearing him purr is like listening to a Harley Davison motorcycle idle.
