Is it normal for a cat to love water? My cat Lucky wakes me up every morning by stroking my face. Once I am up, she runs straight for the bathroom and jump in the bathtub and atempt to turn on the tap. I have been trying to teach her to turn the tap on and off by herself. She drinks water from the tap and sometimes lay in the tub and roll around in the water. I have had three cats in my life and none of them have ever displayed this type of behavior. It is extremely cute and I wonder if she is unique to this behavior.
Yes, it's perfectly normal for cats to love water. All three of mine are fascinated by running water. They don't necessarily love to be wet. They are good about baths but they don't enjoy them. But they all run into the bathroom when they hear me in the shower and wait to jump into the wet tub to explore. Bailey sits on the edge and peeks in the curtain. She has even fallen in with me and doesn't care. I have to shut the bathroom door lightly so they can still push it open or they will scratch frantically to get in. Bailey has even curled up in the sink to take a nap. She will drink from the sink if I run a slow stream for her.
My male cat totally digs water. He sits in the tub and screams for me to turn on the water. He also likes to sit on the edge of the tub when I take a bath & dunk his paws in the water. In the warmer months-when Im watering flowers he screams for me to water him with the watering can. Cats are indeed very different from other animals.
my cat pooglet has a nub tail. i thought it was funny because he doesn't just have a normal nub like all the other cats would normally have. when he walks you could see his poof explode in front of your eyes. he was born with like 3 more cats like that. i still am wondering how she was born like that because his mom and dad had normal tails like every other cat. i think that is pretty strange so if you have any idea how that happened email me.
I have a cat named Mia, and she loves the water. If i am running some water, she always wants me to pick her up to wach it turn on and off. At first it was cute, but now it's a little annoying.. Just make sure you watch her if you leave like a bathtub of water sitting for awhile a she starts to jump up on the side of the tub. My old cat (now gone away to the big ball of yarn in the sky) jumped into my bathtub one time and hated the water ever since.
