My mom has a pekingese and for a couple days she has been acting like her back or legs are hurting. Mom though maybe something had bit her, but there are no bite marks. She was thinking maybe a snake had bit her but there are no marks. I know Pekingese can have a problem with herniated disk. My mom was wondering if it was safe to give her asprin or tylenol. I thought I would ask. She is taking her to the vet next week. Thanks
Call the vet and just ask over the phone because they would have to give you the dosage requirements anyways. I asked the vet about tylenol when Karma got her ears cropped and she said here ill give you this to give her and handed me some pain meds so she never answered the question for me so I am unsure but better safe than sorry so I would call the vet and ask.
I've been told that you should never give an animal tylenol b/c it affects the liver. It's lethal for cats and is one of the most lethal OTC drugs for humans. There was a report on MSN not to long ago, you could look it up. I agree with calling the vet for an asprin dosage. I've given baby asprin to my Maltese with no adverse effects.
