I switched Tink's food to Science Diet Nature's best. It is new, and looks very healthy. I chose the chicken and rice dinner, smaller bites. I tried grading the food from Wiley's list. I do not know if I did it correctly. I came up with a score of 99. Which is pretty darn good. This food doesn't have a bunch of fillers like Tink's last food, which caused her to go to the bathroom quite a bit. She sure loves the taste of it. Did I grade the food right?
Not sure, but ask thelifeofriley, she knows all about dog food. The fact that it doesn't have by-products makes it seem like a good food, but I only now a few good dog brands, I do reccomend innova, I fed it to my dog before she got really sick and it is really healthy, alot of people on here feed their pets innova.
I have not graded it, but by and large the protein sources come from grain. I believe the first one is meat, and then there is ground chicken and eggs. I personally would go with a food with more meat protein, but I'm not an expert on the grading system! It does'nt help that I'm not partial to Science Diet.Having said that, if your dog loves it, and is not experiencing any untoward effects, then I would leave it.
Yes, I was reading that a lot of Science Diet's didn't make the grade. And as I was looking at this pet store for better quality food, I couldn't remember some of the better ones. This particular brand is new, and I read the ingredients and to me it sounded far better. Tink seems to really like the taste, and I think it has to be a LOT better than Pedigree. A lot of foods people recommend are not that easy to find. One feed store near me I called mostly carried Science Diet. But Tink seems fine, she seems to really enjoy the food, and we will see how it helps with bathroom matters. It seems when she was eating Pedigree she had to go quite a bit. I was told this is probably cause there is so much corn and fillers in the food.
