My dog Otis seems to like ripping up his doogy beds that I place in his kennel (he has also ripped up a blanket when I didn't have the bed). I don't want to just leave him on the bare kennel floor... any advice?
I leave my one aussie on the bare floor. She is fine that way, and I dont let the room get to cold. A bare floor is better then the dog choking on fabric. The other idea is if once he shreds everything does he leave it alone. Maybe he is making his bed the way he wants to.
Dakota does the same thing but I have found a kennel pad at the local pet store and he has surprisingly leaves that alone. Maybe because there isn't really room for him to flip it over as it lines the entire kennel.
hmmm. I will look for a kennel pad. I know he likes the fluffiness of things, he always is curling up on blankets and pillows I just think he gets bored in his kennel and was wondering about any products that do not rip up or are sturdier then cotton beds.
You can also buy this spray called Green apple and you spray it on the area you dont want them to chew on and they leave it along... i had to use it on my american bulldog cuz i kept eating all my electrical cords and she licks at it and boy she jumps away lol its actually quite funny. O yea and ive tired what it tasted like and i would rather eat dog stool lol
My Shylo was rescued 8 months ago. She will be 2 in September. I have gone through about 6 beds since bringing her home. She destroys them....I come home to foam & stuffing. Now I just leave a bath mat in an open crate so at least my poor Sage ( who is 6 1/2) has something to lay on while I'm at work. The sofa is fenced in & the bedroom is off limits, so there is nothing soft for them to lie on thanks to "She Devil" Shylo....( wooden floors)
I bought two new beds for both of them this weekend, but they only come out when I get home.
