Trust me I have seen things that do not make sence! No "ghost" but things move! They claim that when a ghost is around there is a "cold spot" I have felt them. I have seen things move in my house, and I dont mean just like the rolled off the table, I mean move across the room. I have studied this for some years now. I lived in Savannah GA for sometime, I walked by what used to be a old "crazy" house where there is no power even hooked up to the building and there were lights on. I had my TV turn on that hadn't work in over a year and wasn't even pluged into the wall! Explain that!!
My grandmother has told this ghost story about a blue healer named Tuck that she had when she was a girl every since I was very little. This dog she says was the hardest working dog you ever saw he was up before the roosters crowed and was in the fields waiting for her daddy to wake up to get to work. MY grandmother says that the dog didn't listen to anyone but her daddy and he was mean to her momma even to the point of snapping at her so she never had anything to do with him. So the way the story goes is her daddy got sick and was bed ridden for months and during that time Tuck hardly ever moved from beside her daddy's bed and he never went to the fields or did much of anything. So a few months later her daddy passed away and a couple of days later her momma got out of bed got dressed and went out to attend to the cattle and there was Tuck running the cattle just like he had before her daddy had become sick. She said there was nothing you could do to get that dog out of that field he was there until her daddy's spirit retired for the night. She says he did the same thing for the next 5 years until he died of old age. Now guess where he laid down to die? Right next to where my grandmothers daddy had been buried 5 years earlier. My grandmother has told the story of Tuck as long as I can remember. She swears that dog was working those cattle with her daddy's spirit. So yes I can't help but believe that dogs see what we cannot. I also think little kids do to.
I really don't have a clue either ask Chili Pepper she might now since she is the first one to really bring it all up. But back to dogs and ghosts. I honestly think that they can see them, and nothing or no one will change my mind! :-D
I don't believe in ghosts- until it's night and I'm alone and trying to sleep. Hee. Seriously. I live in a converted house that was built in the late 1700's. The park I take my dog to, a few blocks away, was a burial ground in the civil war- the graves are of soldiers buried standing up. I love living in a city with so much history. There was one time Henry started growling at night when he was in his crate, and he was looking straight into the kitchen. I just assume he heard something outside, but still it scared the crap out of me!
eshanna, Do you by any chance live in Savannah GA? there are alot of parks there that were burial grounds there. I hated the city itself but i did love all the history and mystry of living there! God I'm bad at spelling today!!!
Guess I'll jump in here and get ready for a hit or two as well. My husband is a STAUNCH Cathloic, I am an "open minded" Catholic, from a line of Southern Baptists and Catholics (we're VERy confused~grin). I have a 29 year old daughter who was introduced to Wiccan beliefs by her friend's mother about 15 years ago. Beliefs she follows and some of which I find were adapted (as were Druid beliefs) by Christianity centuries ago. I have friends of many faiths and I tend to find common ideals, if differing termonlogy (sp) in just about every faith. Ghosts? well..perhaps a "better" term to find common acceptance would be spirits. Most Christians believe in Angels and/or Guardian Angels....can you see them? Nope, they're spirits. Do I believe in them? You bet your bippie! Do I believe that animals can sense something even we can't? Again, you can bet the farm on that one. Sorry Chili, but there have been far too many scientific studies showing the sensitvity of animals to the unseen around us.
I believe in ghosts and have actually seen one. I was sleeping and was awoke by a noise?? looked and there was a woman floating, yes floating over me and my husband, she looked at me and then leaned over my husband and seemed to give him as kiss. I could not move or talk until she left the room. I frantically woke my husband and his response was "That was his mother" Scared??Heck yeah!! He stated after her death if usally saw her 2-3 times a year. Dogs and cats I don't know, but my experience was real.
I believe in ghosts, but i would get sh** scared if I ever saw one. the only thing that happened to me that was remotely strange and scarey was when my bathroom lights switched off and then on by themselves. something wrong with the electricity maybe? ;)
