My 9 yr old lab/rott mix has begun to chew the walls in her sleeping area. She has always been a low activity dog who is taken on long walks three times a day and out inbetween. When we are on vacation she has also begun to chew the wood around her kennel at the boarder. She has no interest in toys and has plenty of bones. Help !!!
I've also had this happen with an older dog.The simple answer is to crate her, but if she's not crate trained, it might be a real pain, or, she'll take to it very easily. Have you tried the repellants that taste horrible? I would try tin foil, also, I have had luck with that. Has she had a checkup at the vet, to make sure she's not low on something, a blood panel would show that. Good luck, I know how frustrating it is, and it can be a hard habit to break, if that's what it is.Where do you have her sleeping? Would it help if she was closer to you?
