On the 14th at 12:01 am chihuhua started having her pupsShe ate the first one and then had several more that I removed from her for their safety . After hard work keeping those babies alive I managed to get her to care for them as of 5 am this morning. I am exhausted. She has not left the kennel to eat or drink. I have brought her water and some food becuase I'm afraid she'll try to eat her pups if she gets hungry. I know I'm paranoid but after she ate the first one of her litter I can't help it. Should I help her out to go potty or just leave paper where I normally do? I'm hoping she'll go potty after we all go to bed tonight. She has been doing really well keeping her babies warm and letting them nurse. Any advice is welcome!!!
Hi, congratulations on the puppies! Sorry to hear you had one of those difficult Moms. It's normal for your dog to not want to leave the puppies, and she will go to the bathroom, when she is ready to. Just leave some water and food near her, and sooner or later she'll go out.
