My old family cat, a neutered male, use to adopt stray kittens. He would carry them to the porch, feed them out of his dish, wash them, the whole works. Has anyone else had a male cat do this sort of thing? Any other fun kitty behavior quirks to share?
That's really cute! I guess he wanted to be a Dad. My kitties are all bizzare in unique ways and I have to say every cat I ever had was pretty strange. But I guess I spend more time with the current family. At night Chelsea lays next to my pillow, puts her wet little face as close to my ear as possible smooshed right up against my face and purrs as loud as she can. Bailey on the other hand sleeps just out of my reach but will wake me up with a few yells every few hours just to make sure I am still there. I have to answer or she will keep going. And Allie, my sweet Allie, dumb as a box of rocks, but so sweet. If she finds her way up onto the bed, she will lay up across my head on my pillow. She's as big as the pillow but somehow she never disturbs me. It's always a surprise to find her sleeping there.
Hehehe, how cute! My current new kitties are brother and sister. They will wrestle and play, and inevitably, whichever one is loosing the current squirmish will break away, tear across the living room to where ever I am sitting, sit right in front of me, then stare at the other like "Ha! Now you can't get me!"
I used to have a male cat that did the same thing! I have a female cat now who also mothers all new addition to the home. She has been trying to groom the yorkie all evening but it keeps running from her.
