Heat cycle

Female doesn't come into heat

I have a 3 year old long haired mini Dachshund and I would like to breed her with my male Dachshund but so far she has only had one heat cycle and that was a year ago. She is healthy , up to date on all shots, a very good looking dog. I have several friends who would love a puppy from her and my male.Any advice ?

Have you shown these dogs, and achieved their championships?
If not, there's no reason to add to the dog population. Have you considered that there may be something wrong with your female, and have you taken her to the vet to find out why she does'nt cycle?
You mentioned breeding her to your male Dachshund, but you did'nt say if he was a miniature or not. Have you researched all the genetic problems associated with the breed?
Are the dogs registered?

don't breed her if she is not going in heat every 6 months, she might have abnormal pupps
