okay.... i recently got a Chinese crested from some body who clearly didnt like her, and neither did the four homes before them... she obviously couldn't have been properly taken care of..so i put her on a good dog food- Purina puppy(the one with veggies ad all that good stuff... imitation beniful) and some good Purina canned food, started giving her plenty of exercise etc.. she s spoiled rotten. the other day she went with me to the vet to bring my new boxer pups to get thee tails docked. ever since she has been vomiting and having diarrhea. today i noticed its very mucousy and thick but completely runny, and now from having it for two day its becoming a bit bloody!!! please help. shes a healthy weight so i dont think its hook..but any advice? it doesn't smell like coccidiosis either... idk if her bowels are just irritated form a virus or shes got something major.. any advice? i dont want to overreact and pay a boat load at th vets if shes just got an irritated bowel lining...
I'm surprised that you havn't taken this dog to the vet yet. She has all the classic signs of Giardia, which is highly contagious, and very hard to get rid of. I would take her to the vet ASAP, and start cleaning your whole house and yard with ammonia, and then bleach.
CHinese Cresteds are notorious for not tolerating foods loaded with grains and crap fillers. Please, get ths baby off the Purina, not only will it cause the stomach problems but you're inviting a host of skin issues as well. She needs to be on a premium, grain free food. There are many on the market now taht are reasonably priced and far superior in quality to Pukerina. This little one needs to be seen by a vet ASAP.

When God was handing out coats to dogs...the Chinese Crested asked for leather!
I agree, with the former post. The dog must be fed a premium dog food. How old is she, and why has she had 4 owners? You must get her to the vet to have a fecal float done for Giardia, and Coccidiosis. You have other dogs to worry about as well, so I would be taking her ASAP.
