hi i am in india . my cocker is 6 months old and he is having a wart on his left front leg. my vet has suggested me to remove it by surgical way under general anesthesia. but i want to teat in by natural way. can anyone help me out ? thanks
Polo, do you have access to human wart removal medication? I personally don't think a wart warrants a general anaesthetic, your dog should be able to be slightly sedated, and a local anaesthetic used. There is a preparation called Dermasil, which is supposed to be really good. You can find it under Dermasil.com. If you want to give me your e-mail address, by PM, then I could mail you the preparation from my vet.
My Dogue has just had two warts removed surgically from his paw. It is most likely that you dog has picked up a virus called Papilloma. aka Dog Warts.
Apparently there is no real treatment for them, More common in puppies because there immune system is still developing. They can be left alone if they don't cause any discomfort and your pet will eventually build an immune to them. The only reason I got them removed was because they grew in between his toes and was causing him a bit of grief, Plus I didn't know what they were so I wanted to make sure that they weren't cancerous.
