On Friday I adolpted a min. pincher from the local pound and she is a very happy dog (5 years), always wagging her tail, great with people and kids but anytime my current dog (yourkiepoo) 5 years also.

They are okay in the house together but if my current dog walks close to her she will snap at him or either show her teeth trying to intemadate him.... he just walks away but how can I get them to be more social. the point of adopting her was to give my other dog a companion, not so he'll have to watch his every move around her.

as she's just left the shelter, the new dog is still in an adjustment period, where she's learning about the people, the rules and the surroundings. She's also trying to figure out where she fits in in the social heirarchy of your house. I'd give it a bit more time. Keep her on a leash and correct her when she acts aggressively so she understands the behavior is unacceptable.

MinPins can be very feisty little dogs, and it's possible that this new girl just doesnt' like other dogs. Some dogs should only be in households with 1 other dog. Time will tell if that's the case with this dog, but I'd give it a lot more time before deciding one way or the other.

BIG LONG WALKS i think is the best way of socailising dogs ive walked other stray dogs that followed a bitch i was walking and the were fighting i just gave the (starter)make sure whos the real starter of the fight a wee clip and a no . if its a hot day its the best cause after a while they will not be bothered fighting and they will be panned out asleep after a munch togther and be best buddies 2 or 3 gud long walks

when id bring my dog to my friends house they hated eachother and we thought it would be better if they met a place that wasnt their own territory it worked at the park then we went back to her house and they were mean to eachother so we just kept yelling no to them and pointing are fingers saying be good and they got better and now they love eachother.
