So Rizzo was taken to my grandmother's this weekend for Mother's Day. Of course my grandmother was surprised and immeaditely smitten with the pathetic little thing, and when I explained the orgin of my name choice, I was told , "Oh no no no, that wouldn't do!" And so now Rizzo is rechristened, as "Sweetie-Pie."
There's no accounting for taste in names, I suppose.
I guess Rizzo hasn't been eating since yesterday, I figure do to the stress of the new home. Here she ate like a little pig, but then she was probably starving at that point, and now she is used to two meals a day she isn't concerned. I gave my grandma TWO bags of the food I was using, along with a brand new bag of Missing Link supplement and cans of pumpkin, so I know she is being offered the same food we were feeding. It's only been a day so I told my grandma to wait it out and see if she starts eating when she gets hungry.
I thought about visiting, but do you think that would make the adjustment period go worse? I don't want to avoid my grandparents indefinately, but would it be better to not visit their home for a period of time? If so, how long?
I have new repsect for you animal rescue workers and foster parents, I have no liking for toy dogs and no desire to get a new dog, and tried not to get too atteached the past couple of weeks, but I miss the little rat now.
