I love cats. My two are still kittens and it is just so funny watching them play and chase each other across the apartment. I swear half the time I think they are completely psychotic. The boy, Stormie, will hide in or under something and wait for my girl, Wiggles, to come near so he can jump out at her. Of course this causes her to spring 3 feet straight into the air and then go tearing across the apartment in a panic with him in hot pursuit. It's amazing how loud thier little paws can be too! The people downstairs must think I'm raising baby elephants! I LOVE IT!
I have a whole herd of elephants. Fortunately my condo is upstairs and down so nobody else has to listen. Amazing how such dainty little critters can make so much noise. My new little one is just so cute. She's only one pound and my youngest before her is around 8 pounds so the kitten is really lucky she can get underneath things where nobody else will fit. Chelsea is only 7 months old so she doesn't know any better than to pounce on the kitten when she's playing but Dolly pops under the sofa and bats back at her. If the dog walks by, she arches her tiny back and hops along HISS HISS HISS!! Max just looks at me like "I didn't do anything Mom!" Kittens really are so much fun which is how I got hooked in the first place. Wait until I walk into the vet this afternoon for her first visit. They already think I'm crazy!
I know I'm weird, but I wouldn't trade any of my adult cats for all the kittens in the world! Each time I've adopted a cat from a rescue, I've always chosen an adult. I just think they have so much more personality!
I guess I'm like that with dogs, too, because DH and I chose a breed based on what they DO and their temperment, rather than looks. Guess I must be totally backwards compared to most people, lol! (wouldn't be the first time, either...)
The average dog is a nicer person than the average person.
I definately agree that adult cats have more personality, but part of the reason I love kittens so much is you get to watch that personality develop. Kittens are extra amusing though because they are so silly. I love that little side-step/hiss manuver they do. And their ability to bring all four paws off the floor at once when startled is amazing!
