My puppy is five months old and is losing teeth and getting her adult teeth. I've noticed that she has pretty bad breath and I'm hoping that it has to do with her teething and bleeding gums. Any suggestions on what it could be? I brush her teeth at least once a week. Thanks!
A healthy pup shouldn't have bad breath. Maybe she has some health issues or it's the type of diet she has. A bad diet can cause bad breath. Or it can be the things that she is chewing on since she's teething or she may be eating poop. If you have cats around dogs are partial to eating cat poop.
hi-i just posted a similar question in the medical forum-my dog is about a year and a half though and has just had an exam-seems though his breath REALLY stinks-any suggestions on remedies?-or should i have it cked out-what about brushing, rawhides,or drops for his water? thanks for any advice
I would give that cute little muffin a big old beef soup bone, raw of course. Some small dogs have such crowded teeth, it really is easy to catch food particles, and hence the yucky smell. A good cleaning by the vet is a good idea, to remove all the plaque.
