I hope this doesn't seem like a silly question - What is safe that can be put on the dogs or do they need anything at all for mosquitos or black flies. We have a house upstate new york and with the summer coming - I know how annoying they are to us - I am just worried about the pups. We have two toy fox terriers and will be bringing them upstate this summer. The have already received and monthly get the frontline plus and inceptor is this enough coverage. I am looking for something natural to keep the annoying bugs away. Thanks for your reply.
Garlic powder, daily. If you can handle the farts and the breath. I know it sounds vile, but in the Kansas heat.. especially since we're 15 inches above average in rain the mosquitoes are running wild. Put garlic powder (and that's garlic powder, absolutely NO onion/onion powder.. it's toxic to dogs) on the food. Dogs love the taste and the bugs hate it, they'll be less likely to bite. Fresh garlic is good too, if you have access to it and want to spend the price. A clove a day.
