Hey everyone. It's been awhile since I've beenon the forum. Figured I would update some. Sadly in the last month and a half I lost 2 dogs. My dog MacGyver was the first to go. He was nearly 9 years old, German Shepherd, and he bloated one night in March. We caught it, but with his age and stuff the best option was to put him to sleep. So we had to let him go. It was really hard and we miss him so much. Than just after a month after he pasted my dog Trouble, a 6 year old GSD/Greyhound mix, went into a siezure suddenly and we couldn't get it under control. The vet tried but it ended up taking over an hour and by that time it was appearent that he had brain damage. So again the vet agreed that the best option was to put him down. So we did. The vet thinks he had a brain tumor that caused the problem. It is so hard to lose one dog, much less 2 in such a short amount of time. My oldest dog Chips, almost 10 years old and is going blind, deaf and senile is still going happy and strong. The rest of the dogs are doing great.
We should strive to be the kind of people our dogs think we are.
Sorry to hear you have lost two dogs so recently. it is hard to make that final decision but we always have to do what is best for the dog and will cause the least suffering. give Chips a big hug from me i know he must be missing his buddies also.
