Our cat just had her first litter of kittens, 6 total, only 2 are still alive. 1 which seems to be having some problems and I'm not sure it will make it. Why does this always seem to happen to the first litter of kittens?...............Update.....Yes we did see the vet. The mother is less than a year old. Sooo, because she is so young, the kittens were born to early. Only one survived, strong little guy. She is an outdoor cat. Eats very well. Thanks to those of you that commented on my topic.......pray that this one is going to make it.

I have never heard of, or had it seem like the first litter always dies. There is something very wrong here. How did the kittens die? What were their symtoms? What is the mother cats diet like? Is she strictly an indoor cat, outdoor cat, or both? How old is the mother cat? Do you know when she got pregnant? The kitten that you say may not make it, what are it's symptoms?
I like most cats better than I like most people. I'll try to be nicer if you try to be smarter.
