Mims had her babies!!! I'm so happy!!! I was the only one home when it happened, so I had a minor freak out. lol But everything is fine now. It is just so amazing that those kittens are so tiny! She had 2 gray and white babies like her. One looks almost exactly like her and the other has different markings but is also gray. Mom and kitten are doing fine, she is a very good mommy. I have one question, when can I get her fixed after she has the babies? I have heard that you have to wait until her milk dries up. But anyways, here are some pics. enjoy
Congrats they are so pretty!!!Im not shure on the getting spayed thing. Please if you are leaving them in that cage do not leave them unattended because they can get thier heads or body stuck in the holes of it.I had it happen to a puppy before in a matter of 3 minutes while I was giving them a bath I was putting the done ones in a wire crate (cage) like the one you have and I was giving one a bath and another one started squeeling and he was stuck in the bars.My fiance had to bend them to pull his head out....
Anyways I hope you have fun with your new babies, they look so lovable!
My daughter just got a kitten for her b-day and I must admitt that I am a dog person and not that I dont like cats but I never wanted one and never thought I could enjoy a cat like I do a dog but I like the crazy little thing. It acts like the dogs and eats the dogs food and runs to the door when someone is at it. I really think the cat thinks he is a dog.His name is Simba and he is obsessed with socks ,clean or dirty.I can see now the enjoyment people get from cats...I wont let my daughter know that because she wants more.LOL
Yes, when the kittens are weaned, the mother cat can be spayed. It's actually illegal to have a female spayed while she is still nursing (at least, that is the law in Pa). I'd probably wait until they are 7-8 weeks old.
The average dog is a nicer person than the average person.
And everyone else is right. Get her spayed once the babies are weaned. Keep her away from Toms until then. Most cats don't go back into estrus while they are nursing a litter, but it does happen!
And Simba sounds like my two on the sock obsession. What is it with cats and socks anyway? It is also very possible that he thinks he is a dog if he is raised with them. I had a kitten that I raised with a puppy and she even hiked her leg to pee!
I like most cats better than I like most people. I'll try to be nicer if you try to be smarter.
That last post was uncalled for Horsemama. Sheltie's cat escaped unexpectedly and got pregnant prior to being spayed. She is NOT breeding cats but is making the best of the situation. Your comments are uncalled for in this case.
I would agree with you MaxandAllie, except those aren't HorseMamma's comments. She just copied and pasted them from a PETA website. Check out this site. I dont know if the link will work, but here is the site she stole her post from.
Unfortunately, Horsemama is correct....Whether she copied and pasted the info. or not. All of us, including MYSELF, are irresponsible to breed pets on purpose that are already overpopulated. People want a "shiny new dog", not one from the pound. Then, in the end, they often don't want that one either. I made the mistake once, but I will never make it again. Now I will always think about my "one litter" and always feel responsible for them. And I should. If I could find the fantastic homes that supposedly exist, I would give them away and absorb the cost. Most people just want a new "toy" for their kids or a new, shortlived, conversation piece. I am sorry......but those are the facts. We already have too many animals and thousands are put to sleep each year. Of course, it doesn't matter what we say, the breeding will continue....$ $ $
