Last night when we were all asleep, the 3 dogs raided the fridge, we know Lily knows how to open it, but we are tring to find a way to stop her, usually by pushing a chair in front of it. Now they are all fat, and Coco is not well at all. He is just lying there and not moving, and he weighs a bit more than his normal 55ish lbs (I lifted him to move him). They stole the milk, butter, cheese, eggs, any meat my family may have had, they stole my tofu, some fruits and veggies (good thing we had no grapes or onions, lol) and they stole leftover pizza, so far that is all we know for sure. Lily and Olie are acting like their normal selves, with a few extra pounds, but Coco is far from his normal self.
I hate to laugh at your misfourtune(sp), but I can just see 3 dogs standing infront of a fridge eating all they can as fast as they can!! I hope Coco feels better and that it doesn't turn into anything serious!
I gotta echo stormy! I couldn't help but laugh, even though in reality it had to be extremely frustrating! I wonder if Coco just stuffed himself and is gonna need to throw up... Hope he feels better! That would get you some money if it had been taped and sent to a funny home videos show. Hey, you might try those safety things they make to keep kids out of cabinets.
My father had 2 GSD that did the same thing, he bolted on a latch and puts a lock on it. He never keeps the lock locked but it serves as a way to keep the dogs out. Looks kinda tacky, but somethings you have to live with in order to live with our furry ones!
i would take your dog to the vet. more then just an upset tummy he could get pancreatitis from eating all that food. i really would have him checked out. they could also bloat from stuffing themselves. if this happened last night then bloat prolly isn't a factor now but have him checked anyway. maybe stock up on diarrhea pills !!!!!!!!
i think grapes in big quantities can be, i guess, like chocolate, it depends on the size of the dog. id call the vet and ask if you were concerned all your grapes disapeared. but then, my vet is on speed dial and i call the all the time, to be safe. they know my voice... :)
I laughed about it too. Coco is fine now. I posted a link about grapes in the "Bad Foods" topic. We usuallly don't keep sweets like chocolate in the house, mostly healthy foods, thankfully. Hopefully they all learned their lessons.
