We are a family of three which includes a toddler. We are interested in having a puppy join our family. We have come across several different breeds, but we are not quite sure which breed will be suitable for our toddler especially. The breeds we have had the pleasure of meeting are German Shepards and a Rotti/Mal mix. Out of these two breed which one would be good around my toddler?
If you are going to have Big Dogs in a family with a toddler, you are going to need to have the dog trained if he is going to be an inside dog. I have a yorkie and he works great with the 3 year old and 5 year old in my house. But i would go more for the German Shephard.
my dog duke. he is registered with the ckc and we are looking to breed him.
I think it really depends more on the temperment of the dog, than the breed. Also, how old the dog is, if it was raised around children, etc. But if you want the dog FOR your child, I would recommend waiting until the child is older.
The average dog is a nicer person than the average person.
