I am intrested in getting a dog, but I am having a hard time picking the right one. I need a dog that will be ok alone when I go to work. My mother will stay with the puppy until their grown and housebroken. I thought about a peke, tibetan spaniel, and toy poodle. Any ideas?
We'll in my opinion, poodles are great, I have had a toy poodle named Angel and she was wonderful and when she passed away in febuary I got a miniature poodle named Cookie, so I do have experience with poodles, and they are my favorite breed. They are easily trainable, but need excercise, and I personally wouldn't get a dog if I didn't have time for it. No dog wants to be locked up in the house alone all day waiting anxiously for their owner to get home, and especially puppies, puppies need 24 hours of attention and training. Of course a puppy does need to get used to being alone every now and then for about an hour so they don't get lonely anxiety everytime you leave them for the grocery store etc. Poodles are a wonderful breed and I would reccomend them to anyone. The other breeds you picked out are cute too, I just have never owned any of those other breeds.
I would go with a Pekingese. They are not as big of barkers as poodles and not as apt to be destructive when left alone. I am not a poodle fan, but i moved my parents in with me and they have a yorkie and also a poodle. Yap Yap Yap. When anyone comes to visit , they yap the entire time until i scream in their faces to shut the heck up ! They also require less excercise and tend to be less "needy" than the poodles.
If you are a dog and your owner suggests that you wear a sweater, suggest that he wear a tail.
