We have two min pins, gandhi is 6mths and 5kgs and just the most pleasant pup - we got him at 8 wks and is really receptive to training; he was toilet trained within 2 weeks. For company we picked up another little min pin about 4 weeks after getting ghandi. Mo is 5mths 3.5kg and this little guy has some anxiety issues. The difference in personality is astounding. They both get treated the same, and we suspect Mo was the runt of the litter, and during his first 8 weeks, not treated so lovingly. This pup didnt know how to eat or drink - the condition of his skin and eyes, reports from other buyers of this breeder, and how dumbfounded he is around food, has lead me to suspect that the poor thing was only feed dog biscuits before we got him. In the 4 mths that we have had Mo, his skin and eyes look healthier and he can now feed himself. Both dogs are pretty good with basic commands; But Mo has been unreceptive to training how to not do things, like barking. It has only been this week, that Mo has stopped having 'accidents' all over the house. Although we have heard about alot of problems other owners have with 2 male min pins, these two boys are generally great together - even when play fighting, they "pretend" to bite eachother and never ever get to serious, they sleep together and Mo really just wants to be like Ghandi. The problem revolves around BONES. I gave both the boys a bone about an hour ago, and Mo is still growling and protecting his property. He growls so much, for such a long time with his bone, that he falls asleep. His ears are back and shaking uncontrollably. Ghandi is unphased, and doesnt get aggressive when I or Mo take away his bone. Each time, I sit down, and try to train him that its ok, reward him when i take the bone, give it back, reward when taking it, give it back, so on. I have even trained ghandi to do it. The three of us sit down, I give the command, Ghandi takes the bone braveley (Mo snaps). I reward mo as soon as he starts calming down, and give the command to ghandi to give the bone back. It was quicker to train ghandi to do this, than it has been to train Mo to be cool and chill out. There is no difference in the level of aggression when Mo is with Ghandi or when they are separated.

How elese can i get this little guy to chill?

I wish people would REPORT or maybe yell at, breeders who raise their dogs in the horrific conditions you described. Instead, they BUY a dog from the abuser allowing them to remain in business and do nothing for the dogs still left there. Astonishing........Because you can buy "cheap" from abusive breeders or what?!? I hear this stuff over and over again.......

DO SOMETHING for the soon to be puppies in that breeder's future!!!
