I am fostering a beagle and her SEVEN PUPPIES. The vet suggested I supplement her milk with canned Science Diet mixed with milk supplement and baby cereal. But the pups don't like the milk supplement. Is it okay to skip it? Also, any tips on getting them to eat it would be appreciated. A couple of puppies won't eat the mush.
Try and get goat's milk, and if you can't use evaporated milk, with 3 ounces of water per can. Add an egg and a teaspoon of Karo syrup to each batch. Goat's milk is amazing stuff though, hopefully you can get that.
It depends on their age, My pups didn't really care for mush, no matter what was in it. At about 5 weeks, they had their teeth, and I chopped up some regular puppy food. they played in it awhile, and starting eating it. They looked forward to it for a couple of days, and then I took mom away. They have been doing great since. I pretty much skiped the mush, it was such a mess, and they played with more then they ate. Good luck
