my three year old boxer just had a litter of puppies the day before valentines day and is in heat again. I have never had a female boxer and was wondering if this is normal or if this is to soon? She has already had two litters and was also wondering if it is safe to breed again this soon and how many litters is to many
I agree with the above poster. She should NOT be bred again, as she has either had 2 litters back to back or she started too young if she is three and had 2 litters. Just because a dog comes into heat, it is NOT a sign they must be bred.
People are like slinky's, not really good for much. But its still fun to push them down the stairs.
to answer your first question, yes, it is normal for a dog to have her heat 4 month after birth. her previous heat was mid December, which would make it about 6.5 months to her next heat. it is right on schedule.
the second question was already answered. let her rest.
If I seem to have a superiority complex, it is because you make it so easy.
