I have a male bischon that scratches himself constantly especially around the eye area I have taken him to the vets over and over and its always the same meds they work for a while then once off them it starts up again any idea what I can do .. after grooming its worse I use a medicated shampoo for him help my dog needs it
I having the same problem with my little boy he will be 1 yr on April 1st .I'm think maybe it could be the food he is eating he get's Hills Science . it would be nice if we could find sfell in love with him too ome help for our loved one , he was just nutered the other day . he is just full or love ,my big macho husband fell in love with him :)
yes it could be a food allergy. Unfortunatly Bichons seem to have alot of allergy problems. I would seek and allergist, and seem to narrow down what he could be allergic to. Also try food with no grains in them. Hill's is not a good quality food. That could have something to do with it.
What kind of medicated shampoo are you using? If it smells good, it probably has perfume in it and isn't doing you any good. Neem shampoo's work well for allergy skin. You probably won't be able to find it in regular stores. You may have to order it from a doggie mag. or a holistic pet store. Good luck
