My 7 month old went today to get spayed. I'm so nervous. How will I ever get through the day. A lady I worked with has a daughter who's puppy died while being spayed and that's why I'm so worried. I need some well wishes. Thanks!!!!
Mandy has my thoughts and prayers - and so do you. I have never heard of a puppy/dog dying while being spayed, however, I completely understand your reservations about it. I would also like to say 'Thank You' for doing this and may your girl have many wonderful years ahead.

I know how you feel! I was a nervous wreck when Pebbles went in for her spay, and she had to stay overnight. I tried to convince the vets to let her come home and everything...didn't quite work out! Anyway, I'll keep you both in my thoughts, and try not to worry...everything will be just fine.
I'll try to find my old thread if I have a little time later...
mandy, both you and your puppy will do just fine. i have always fixed any animal that has come into my home. her sad puppy case is unusal. just love your puppy and know that you are doing the right thing!
Glad to hear everything went well. The night that Bitty and Addy were spayed was excrutiating. You wouldn't think 24hrs with a couple of cats could be so hard,LOL. Give her lots of love when she gets home.
Glad it went well. I've heard of complications during spay, but they are rare. I've never been through having a dog spayed, I have males now. My last female was my Mastiff and she was never spayed (and no, she was not bred). When Merphy was neutered, I dropped him off in the morning, called around noon and two, and picked him up at 4. I had a ton of things to do that day, so it went by fast. I think I would go insane if either of my boys were gone for the night though. Hang in there, its almost tomorrow!
Even if you are on the right track, you will still get run over if you just sit there. (Will Rogers)
Thanks for everything....I can't pick my baby up until after work and it's killing me to think she's still at the vet. She probably thinks we left her for good. Hopefully it hurts me more then it does her. This morning it was so hard not having her there. Ugh! This day needs to hurry up and get over with so I can see my girl. What am I going to do when I go out of town in two weeks? Its going to kill me.
Mandybear, I'm just wondering why you left your dog at the vet clinic overnight. Do they have night staff? I'm sure she'll just be happy to see you, dogs don't usually react too badly to spay and neuter, at least no in my breed anyway. Can you not take your dog with you when you go away for 2 weeks? Who will be looking after her if you don't?
Pen2 we had to keep her at the vet overnight because they recommended that she stay there. The reason I haven't picked her up is because my husband and I both work and I would worry about her more being home alone then at the vet where there are people looking after her. I hope I made the right decision. eek! Anywho when we go out of town in two weeks we will be gone for 4 days and my BIL is coming over to house sit and watch the pup and the kitty. He love Mandy so much so she will be good hands. I will not worry too much about that. I will just miss her and kitty like crazy!!!
I'm glad your precious Mandy is back home and safe! Good for you for getting her spayed. Might I reccomend haveing only one collar on her instead of two, if you put two thick collars on her like that, then it might be hard for your baby to lower her neck if she has to get water or wants to eat, it might be uncomfortable, just thought I would add that, maybe you have two on for a reason! :)
Mandy is beautiful, she looks like a healthy little puppy! Too bad our little puppies can't have a play day! :( I need to start bringing my puppy Cookie around other pups again, since she has hardly been around any since we got her, because not many people in our neighborhood have dogs, and if they do, they are all way too big to be playing with a small pup! :(
I forgot too ask, did your mandy have to wear one of those cone things on her head after being spayed? My little puppy cookie is only 15 weeks, and she isn't old enough to get spayed yet, but i'm already worried about when she does get spayed, I certainly would have to go thourgh the loss of another dog all over again. YIKES!
