HELP!!! I have a 5 year old male, neutered basset hound. We may need to surrender him as he has bitten my husband twice and has recently bite my 2 year old daughter. The basset has always been aggressive from the day we got him - food aggression, people aggression. But with his recent biting we just can't have it. ANY HELP!?!?!?!??!

How long have you had this dog? If he is 5 years old and you raised him from a pup you should have taken steps to correct this behavior long ago, if he is a recent addition to your household then you need help from a qualified trainer to change the situation. Meanwhile it is your responsibility to keep the dog and your child seperated, can't imagine why you would allow a child that age to be near a dog you already knew was agressive. I would also take the dog to the vet for a complete checkup to find out if there is a health problem that is causing the agression.

What training have you done with this dog?
Has he been seen by a vet and tested for ailments such as thyroid?
have you spoken with a behaviorist?
