In the video you see authorities bringing out an adult pug and what looks like an 8-10 week old black lab puppy. I googled this topic and from what I've read the puppy was euthanized, this is still under investigation, and the exact cause of death hasn't been determined. Apparently, the mother and grandmother were sleeping at this time. What parent (sleeping or otherwise) doesn't hear his/her baby crying???? I'm not a parent, but everyone knows not to leave an infant/child and a dog unattended.
I really don't understand how a puppy this young could do something like this. Because of a neglectful adult, a baby and a puppy suffer the consequences. I hope they press charges against the adults for this awful accident.
According to that report, the baby had been left in a baby swing all night. I find that hard to comprehend, what parent leaves their child in a baby swing all night while they go sleep in their bedroom or whereever? I'm betting the baby doesn't sleep well in a bed yet andt hey put it in the swing to 'rock it to sleep'.
Puppies can play relentlessly, and if the baby's feet were dangling down from the baby swing, and swinging back and forth where the puppy or dog could get at them and no one in the family stopped it from happening, I personally can see where an extremely playful puppy had the potential to bite an infants legs in taht situation might see it as a game. ... What a horrifying story.
The parents of that baby were little more than kids themselves, the mother was 17 and the father didn't look like he was more than 17 or 18 either.
Never trust a tall dwarf... he's lying about something.
This sounds like a case of pure neglect on the parents part. My youngest daughter was hard to get to sleep and we used the swing. We never EVER left her unattended in the swing or let her sleep in it all night. The baby could of fallen out if left unattended. You never know. What were these parents thinking leaving the baby alone in the swing all night?
What a horribly sad situation. It is so infuriating to see how much suffering can be caused by ignornace and irresponsibility. I really do believe at times it would be better for people to have to be tested before having children, or pets. Both are such an awesome privilage, and a huge responsibility. I can't imagine being so careless with the well being of a 2 month old child (who gets a 2 month old puppy at the same time!?). To think of what the poor baby suffered due to that carelessness, and now the dog being put down, I can't imagine such a young puppy actually meaning to be aggressive, or know what it was doing. But he never even had a chance to be properly trained, let alone 'rehabilitated.'
Never mind the parents, I believe there were three 'children' in the house, only one adult.
