I walk my dog every night for about 4 miles. The "neighbors" (about 2 miles away) have a beautiful yellow lab always TIED to a tree. When we first started seeing him, he didn't even have a box. This past weekend, they finally put one in but he is still tied to the tree and is constantly tangled. How do I find the laws for my state? I live in Pennsylvania.
I am looking into getting a anti-tethering law passed in my town. It makes me sick to see all these poor dogs at the end of a chain 24/7. Even if they have food, water and shelter, chains can get caught on something and they can't reach them.
I had a neighbor who lived behind me indirectly who had there pitbull I think thats what it was, looked like. Anyways tied to a tree it couldn't go anywhere and they had a metal frame daybed with a mattress proped up diagonally for shelter. I felt so sorry for the dog and I wanted to call and report them for abuse but I don't live in such a good neighbor and I didnt want them thinking at all that it was me that called. But they have moved now but I'm sure the dog doesn't have any better living conditions.
