We have a 6mth old Yorkie, and I know their ears should stand erect, but our yorkie's ears are only erect when he is alert. I thought their ears are to stand erect almost all of the time. Is there something we should give him to obtain this, or is it normal for the ear to drop and hang over. Any advice would really help. Thanks
He is probably still teething, and it is normal for a puppies ears to do strange things. Alot of pet yorkies have down or winged ears. It is what makes them pet quality, not show quality. So unless you planned on showing this dog, I would worry about it. Spay her and love her for the pet she is.
My yorkie has floppy ears too. I tried for several months of taping but once I took the tape off, flop... went the ears. I think his ears maybe too big to stand up. They do give him character though. If you don't mind floppy ears let'em hang.
I think there is something you can do. Maybe ask the vet. Kayla's ears have stood up ever since she was born. Her ears were so big at first we use to laugh about how she would have to grow into them. When she gets excited she can actually pull them together. Weirdest looking thing you have ever seen. lol!!
