Just wondering if anyone has used the doggy doorbell (I do not know the exact name) for potty training. I am working on training my almost 5 month old papillon to only go outside. I watch him very carefully and take him out as needed, so we have few accidents, but he does not seem to know that he isn't supposed to go in the house.... if I don't take him out he will have an accident. I realize this all takes time and am just trying to figure out the best way to teach him to let me know when he needs to be let out. I have only had him for 13 days, so he is still very new to this. The woman that sold him to me was using a litter box and doggy door, but I found that he only played in the litter and really had no idea that he was supposed to use it to potty in, plus I just want him to get used to going outdoors so that there isn't any confusion. I have also been doing crate training and am using a leash that I have attached to me at all times when he is in the house. I would get a doggy door that would attach to our slider, but we have a really odd sized sliding glass door that does not fit the normal doggy doors and because we live in a rural area I don't really want him to go out without me just in case there are other creatures lurking out there that might hurt him. Has anyone used the doggy door bell, if so, has it worked for you and what did you do to teach your pup?
