I've never gotten spammed from filling out fafsa. Might just be something goofy going on - I've gotten tons of junk email inthe past couple of weeks. MSNBC and CNN had a story on it about hoaxers/spammers using their name and a fake web address to spam people

If you filled your FAFSA out online, it is a secured site, and the government does not sell or share your email address, or any of your other info, so that couldn't be where it came from. Did you click on any pop-up ads or visit any college websites, fill out any other college surveys or anything like that during the same timeframe? Did you give your email address to a college you are interested in attending? It is possible that the schools you selected for your FAFSA to be reported to got your email address and are selling/sharing it. Some colleges do that.
Does your email account have spam filters? I get about 20spams an hour. If it weren't for my filters I would go nuts!
