I can't believe it is back to school time...I was so excited to have both my girls in school for freedom...well, my oldest started 4th grade today and my youngest is in kindergarten...all day everyday....I am lost...I never thought it would be this rough..the house is too quiet...Is everyone else back to school and are you happy or sad...Does it get better? HELP ME!!!!!
It will get better - my oldest son started 5th grade this year, and my youngest is in first! Right at first, it is really quiet - kinda weird. You'll adjust, and come to love the time you have to get everything done! (If your kids are like mine, they will come home and make a mess of everything you did anyway LOL) Enjoy it - the weekend is almost here!
I have always hated back to school time. I love spending time with my kids during the summer. This year however has been such a drag! The weather has been horrible, we have been so busy with house renovations and all this other garbage, I think my kids are actually looking forward to going back to school! How pathetic is that? They keep saying we are gong to get a late summer in September, so hopefully they're right and we can do some exciting things then (only weekends mind you).
And I can't wait til my youngest graduates from HS she will be a sophmore in 2 weeks, the middle is a senior in HS and the oldest is starting grad school.........Enjoy the peace and quiet and enjoy yourself!!!
I like him a lot better than I like most people. To you he's a dog. TO me he's an adopted son who is short, hairy, walks on all fours and doesn't speak clearly. I have no problem with any of these. <
I agree with nansyorkies, summer holidays are far too long, here they break up third week in June and go back mid. september!!! Forunately mine are enrolled in a summer club where they do lots of different activities like swimming, tennis, gardending and of course homework. I think its great because they have the opportunity to interact with other kids, get lots of exercise and cuts down their TV hours which can't be a bad thing. Its funny though it always seems to be a time of the year when I notice the most change in how much they've grown, always needing to buy new sneakers and pants as they're outgrown them.
I hear ya!!! I just can't believe I am home alone..thank goodness I work 3 days a week. I would go completely crazy home alone all day everyday...I mean I love my animals but they don't talk back... I am also in agreement..I can't believe how much my daughter grows from May until August...
hiya My boys are off til 3rd Sept and they're driving me mad! The weather has been typical british and they're fed up! We're always busy but sometimes its nice to relax by the beach and chill out! My eldest starts high school and little one going into year 2 (they're 11 and 6 years) We're getting married in Scotland on Sept 27th so hopefully better weather in Sept! Been planning the wedding for 2 years and promised the boys we promised them a puppy a few years ago so now we're going to surprised them at the reception with a photo of their new puppy - if i ever get time to meet the breeder! What have you all been up to in the hols? bev
I dont really notice the difference except that I have to pay ALOT more for daycare in the summer because my daughter is there all day instead of an hour before and after school. I work 40 hours a week so I still dont see her all day in the summer except when I take a weeks vacation around 4th of July.
Max You will enjoy it. If a lot of time really gets on your hands, try volunteering at the school as a room Mom, etc. The schools in my experience always need helpers. Also, the library comes to mind. I never had time before to go now I go all the time. Have fun...
