i know that pedialyte is for people babies who ar evomitin / diarrhea. my moms vet told her to give it to her cats as one of the 3 was throwing up. and i have heard of giving it to a dog, for added nutrients if they are not getting anough, or dehydrated. it it ok to give to a dog? i was going to make pedialyte ice cubes adn give one a day as a treat (she loves loves loves ice cubes) i am just concerned she doesnt drink enough water. she doesnt seem dehydrated, but for instance, we went to the track and ran 2.5 miles, and she wants no part of her water dish. maybe b/c i keep pestering her to have some water :) would it be ok to gove her some pedialyte as a precaution or no. if so how much? she is 12lbs... thanks
pedilyte is fine for both dogs and cats. it replaces electrolytes that are lost with vomiting and diarrhea. there are electrolyte formulas made specifically for dogs and cats but pedialyte works just as well.
