What can i do help needed as i have never had pets but would never see them hurt......... Advise please
If she is a stray and doesn't trust you enough to let you help her then all you can really do is to continue to feed her and to offer her a safe place for the baby like you did and just hope that her instincts kick in and she moves that baby someplace safer. Stray Mom's will often move the kittens several times when they feel threatened. Just don't try to confine her in any way because it is possible that there are more babies someplace else that she hasn't finished moving yet. Cats usually have more than one baby.
Good luck to you. We just went through this a couple months ago. I drove myself crazy worrying about the baby kitten. The momma moved her kitten a total of 5 times in just 2 weeks. The kitten ended up dying. The advice I got was just at max stated. All you can do is provide fresh food, water, and a safe place for the baby. Good luck.
