hi, my 6 year old cocker span is constantly peeing on the floor even when just beeb taken out ,the vet can find nothing wrong, any idea"s ?its driving us nuts my husbands says he is a spoil brat (wich is true)
Has he always done this, or did it just start? If it's not submissive peeing, or a physical problem then I guess I'd try one of those belly bands, or another contraption made for male dogs. I just read about it on here, and can't remember what it was called. Perhaps someone else can. I know they were hand made and meant to fit a male dog. I might also look for a second opinion. Good luck.
I have a 1 year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Blue Heeler mix that does the same thing. She will also "dribble" out urine and not realize it. We took her to the vet and they did a procedure where they tear away a ring that is in her vagina where the urine would collect. Well needless to say that was a waste of money. She is worse now then she was before and the procedure was only 2 weeks ago. I would not recommend this procedure.
I agree with Pen, I would get a second opinion. If any part of the urinary tract was infected or inflamed it could result in loss of bladder control. Diabetes is also a cause for excessive peeing due to exessive drinking but other symptoms would be present which would be noticable. Feeding your dog human junk food high in salt or sugar can also increase significantly the amount of pee production. Stress can also be another cause, if there has been a change in your household or the dogs routine. Until you can get the problem solved it would probably be best to keep him in area of the house that is easy to keep clean, alternatively you can buy washable dog nappies.
