I recently went to the vet and received a RX for Ivomrc 50 ml give 0.9ml daily for mange, it was explained that the concentration would be 1% (10mg/ml) does this sound correct for a 38 pound 6+ month old Boxer
The OP said she got a prescription at the vet clinic. She did not say she filled it there. If she did, there would'nt be any reason to question the vet. However, since Ivermectin is a lot cheaper at a feed store, and the dosage for cattle and horses is different, she might not know the correct dosage for her dog. I was merely trying to find out where it was filled because you can so easily overdose a dog with ivermectin, and cause great harm or death.
I'm going by the information on the MSDS put out by the manufacturer for Ivermectin which states the LD50 for dogs is about 80 mg/kg. That is significantly higher than what the op mentioned. http://msds.farnam.com/m001128.htm
