I was given a Pug yesterday by a "breeder". My new pug girl is 1 yr 7 months old, just had her 2nd litter of puppies, and for the 2nd time they all died. She is also the lone survivor from her mother's litter. I took our new pug b/c that's the only type of dog I wanted, as they are laid back, and I just loved my cousins Pug. I also took her in b/c I felt this "breeder" wanted to give her up b/c she couldn't make any money off my new Pug!
My questions are, when will the dog stop leaking, when will her nipples go back to normal, and how long before I can get her fixed, as I have no desire to breed this poor doggy again! She is very very lovable, and is in a very very comfy home now. It hasn't been 24 hours and she is very comfortable already! Sleeping on her puppy pad on her own chair!
Thanks for any help you can give, as I search the web to find all people experienced with Pugs.
Her milk will take about to a week to dry up. you can probably get her spayed when ever you would like. Talk to your vet about it. I know people who have gotten their dogs spayed during a c-section, so I guess you can do it when ever you would like. Enjoy your need baby
The spay can be done at any time. Yes, even an be done during a c-section. Hope all works out for you, sounds like this 'breeder' and I use this term loosely considering she is under 2 yrs old and had 2 litters already doesnt need to have dogs.
She is lucky to have you, hope the spay goes well. If you have breed specific question, I can help you out, shoot me a PM.
yes you should be able to get her fixed soon. talk to your vet about her losing all the puppies. so the vet can do a ultra sound and make sure there is nothing going on inside. there might be something going on that should not be over looked.get her in right away. puppies die all time during birth, but to have all puppies die, is making me wounder what is going on in side. and why on earth would they try to breed your pug if this happen before. is be on me...there are so much testing that should be done before any one should even think of breeding a dog. to make sure her health is good and she will not be in any danger. alot of vets will do a spay during a c-sec. while she is under and open.it dose make good sense to have this done at this time. hum... well as far as her milk here is a old wise tale, cabbage leaf can help dry the milk up. it dose work on us as well as dogs. or when you go to the vet there are pills they can give to stop the milk from coming. but if it was me i would just let it run it course. Good luck... keep us all posted...wolfecreekbulldogs
