We have a beautiful full breed black cocker spaniel. Most times he loves us and is not afraid of us and wants us to pet him and play with him, which we do. We walk him and take him outside to play in the backyard. But, there are times, when we call him and he acts like he is terrified of us. He won't let us pet him he runs away from us like he is scared of us. We can't figure it out. It may be when we first wake up and let him outside. He acts like he is scared to go outside even though he has to use the bathroom. We sometimes have to force him outside, but once he gets outside he is fine. What if anything can we do about this? Also, sometimes when we approach him, he pees because he is scared of us and other times he doesn't, it's very confusing. Help.
