ok my son got a puppy last week, which the puppy was full of worms...took him to vet to get medicine last week. Hershey is still pooping out worms (long round white worms) appear dead. are the eggs dead also? is it safe to hold him? Can me or my kids get worms from holding him or him licking us? what are the chances of humans getting round worms? Hershey is 6wks old btw.
Sadie my geman shephard/terrier is 6 yr old doesn't chew pig ears any more it seems, she just takes them and puts them down...is her teeth getting soft or what? what should I feed her treat wise for her?dog
Take a fresh stool sample and Hershey to the vet. ASAP!!
I don't know about holding the pup, ask your vet. Children should always wash their hands after playing with a pet and taught not to put hands in mouth or eyes or nose until after they are washed (if they must do so!!)
Our vet says nothing hard or brittle for ANY dog to chew on. Try a Kong in an unusual shape--not the fireplug shape. Andy has one that looks like a bunch of squares connected and he loves it--keep it small enough that she can chew on it and large enough that she won't swallow it.
I feed Andy Nutro's vegetable and fruit treats and Newman's Own organic treats (we don't feed him organic--he just loves them).
