So a girl my mom works withs friend is a mail carrier and yesterday on her route in redneck missouri there was a dead dog on the side of the road with three puppies curled up next to her. Well she picked up the puppies and was going to take them to the pound so we said we'd take them. They're around 8 to 9 weeks old and are active and eating and drinking well. They're also really good about not messing in the crate. They're what we think to be husky/shepherd mixes but are only barely 5 pounds right now. They are literally nothing but skin and bones with the exception of their worm filled bellies. So yesterday they got a capstar and a flea bath and today the went to school with me(I'm a first year vet tech) and got dewormed and their first set of shots as well as frontline. All in all theyre doing quite well but it's been awhile since I had a puppy and I need some tips on quieting them at night in their crate and if anyone knows of something I could give the one for constipation he hasn't really pooped and is a little more lethargic than the rest and I don't want to give him mineral oil. They all seem to be parvo free as their poop is nice and solid so that's a good sign. Any tips would be appreciate.
I put a large stuffed animal and an old alarm clock that you can hear the secs tick in with my ridgeback when she was a puppy. The otherthing I tried was I fed her a warm snack before bed, that made her sleepy.
