Pebbles had a great day . We had company over for dinner , and my mastiff who really doesn't pay any attention to the little guys. well the company came in an little sherman lol he's only 6 months went right in the living room and sat right in front of her dog bed. He wouldn't leave for anything not even his favorite carrots lol. He was protecting her. It was so awesome to see. The cuitest part was when the company left pebbles stood up and curled up next to him and as im typing this they are snorring together on the dog bed . Animals are so great i don't know what i would do without them.
Just a little update, Pebbles is doing so much better. She is now eating out of her dish, no more hand feedings. It was so hard for her to move her neck before. The good part about this means everything is healing well in there. The vet was concerned as to how much damange was done and if she would get her range of motion back. So this is a big relief. Her personality is comig back too she is trying to play a little bit. The only problem i have is she hates going outside, she is prolly scared. I take her out to the fenced in part of the yard but she will pee real quick and back up the stairs and wait by the door to come in. Thats ok in time i thing we can deal with this. Today is her last day of meds. He temp. is fine so i think we are well on our way to a full recovery. I know we still have a long road but it looks very promising.
I'm so glad to hear about Pebble's recovery. They are tough little dogs. She will not forget those coyotes, and will probably always be nervous about going to far away from the house. That's good in a way, because you don't have to worry about her taking off into the bush, and getting attacked again. Did you call the wildlife authorities to come and do some humane trapping behind your place, or are there too many dogs in the area?
Today was Pebbles last vet visit. We took out the stitches and gave her a bath. She is 100%, running and playing with everyone again. You would never know she was so close to being gone. I'm so lucky to have found a vet that really loves what she does. Pebbles spent 4 days, 3 night at the vets, had x-rays several times, the vet did a 2 + hour surgery , iv fluids for 3 days. Never mind i called her at 6:30 in the am. All the meds she gave pebbles and the post op. care. I got my bill honest i expected a few $1000.00. She only charged me $958.00. So i went and got her a bottle of nice red wine. Thats her favorite. thank goodness for the people who really love animals. She was so happy today with pepples that she cried. Was a touching moment.
Just read this thread. What an amazing story. We live in a big city and our house backs onto a golf course. We have seen all sorts of wild life in our yard. Except for the deer, they seem very bold. There has been talk of coyotes and after learning that they would go after ANY size dog I will be extra cautious. Glad to hear Pebbles is doing so much better. Sending best wishes for a full recovery.
