so since i switched my beagle boy to THK dehydrated raw- embark to be exact.. turkey- his stools grew double the size that they were on EVO, he is acting like he has fleas and allergies- aka biting pads, flea biting nearly all body parts.. buttt his coat is shinier.. haha. so as i was thinking he has an allergy to the food or the season.. or both, my friend said he's probably intolerant to the ingredients. so i contacted my vet and she said it sounds like a food allergy.she did also say the stool mightve gotten larger due to bone meal in the food- but there is none of that so thats out.
i DO NOT want to go back to kibble and its crappy ways. i need a switch in formula.. so no THK products will do.. i looked. so primal raw.. i dont really want to do natures variety raw because it only has 5 % fruit/veg produce- i believe its a neccesity to have a bit more. so PRIMAL..
anyone feed and/or like primal?
wow this is long. i am nervous to switch. its exciting though. the more i talk about it, the more comfortable i am becoming about switching.
i have been doing research on feeding raw for about three months. or more actually. so i do have an idea of how feeding raw goes and i have tons of links to read still. i have so much more to say. hahaa.
aleafy, I looked it up, because my sister was using Primal raw. The ingredients all seem quite good, I like the fact that it is all organice and antibiotic free. I personally like Orijen, or Innova Evo, but I would'nt be afraid to feed this food. According to the site you have to supplement the food with something, it does'nt mention what. It's about $5.00 a pound;which is fairly pricey, but I would give it a try if you want to. They do recommend transitioning slowly to this food. What breed of dog do you own? I would be interested to see what you think of it if you do switch. Good luck.
