I have a 3mo. old miniature schnauzer. He has been in a kennel all his life. I am having trouble potty training him? I have a ton of patience with him, but it seems like he is never learning. I've praised him, etc. What should I do? Should I take him out of the kennel and let him sleep on my kitchen floor? Thank you!
Hi,I am " trying" to house break 3 5 mo old minis. At this point some days they win, other days I win. It really seems to depend on the weather for me. Live in TN and we got the triplets,1 male and 2 females at NY's. They were born 11/13/08. So it was a very cold winter here and also a very rainy and cold Spring so far and it is difficult to take them out as much as necessary to potty train. They are white, which makes for a lot of bathing from the muddy conditions. I try to just wipe them off a lot of times as to not dry out their skin, but now they are into everything like digging up flower bulbs,so muddy mouths mean baths. The male is starting to go outside about 75% of the time. Girls seem to be more stubborn. No tricks-just have to watch them every minute and get them up and out when you see them getting ready to poo, lots of praise and a treat for going outside. Girls are harder to catch on the pee part. I wish us both patience as I think it's going to take it1 Had my last mini for 19 yrs and never had a single problem in housebreaking. This time, much different story. Never had more than 1 at a time, and I think that is a big part of my problem. I keep cleaning up with an enzyme remover and they keep trying to mark the areas.Round and round we go. Juniebug
