PLEASE SIT DOWN AND MAKE A RATIONAL LIST OF PROS AND CONS. We all know the horrors of buying a puppy from a petstore. And not only do you want to buy a puppy from a petstore, you are planning on spending money on nothing more than a mutt with a fancy name. I have nothing against mutts, I have owned lots of them. I am sure this puppy is adorable. But if you spend $$ for this dog, you only give those types of breeders a market. Those type of breeders breed for supply and demand. If the demand is removed, then the breeding will at least slow down. Also please go read the thread regarding the Boston that was purchased at a petstore and the thousands of dollars this person spend on saving this dog. All due to poor breeding practices by those who breed for the sole purpose of $$. I am sure since you posted this, you are a rational and intelligent person. Please do not spend money at a petstore to purchase a mixed breed dog, when there are thousands in shelters awaiting a death sentence for nothing more than being born. At least take the time today to go visit shelters before making a final decision. Then if you insist upon buying this puppy, have them check for a microchip. A responsible breeder will chip all there pups in an effort to prevent any dog they ever bred from ending up in a shelter. Also read Ruffian's post under Pugabull regarding health related issues of mixed breed dogs.
Not only should you not buy from a petstore, but there is no way to know what this mix will look like as an adult. Weren't there any littermates there? Maybe you didn't recognize them b/c mixed breed pups from the same little can look very different. Go to petfinder and look at any type of mix, you will find dogs that vary greatly in appearance. If you really have your heart set on this kind of mix, you may find one on petfinder to adopt.
Peterpan, you asked if we could find a 'breeder ' of Cavi-Aussies. There is no such responsible breeder of this mix. Please think twice before you buy this puppy. The pup's parents will have had no health testing, leading to possible genetic defects down the road...which in turn can mean thousands of dollars out of pocket for you, in vet bills.
We have a Mini Aussie/King Charles Cavalier. We bought him from a lady who raised both breeds and she said these two getting together was an accident. I would have to say it is one of the best mixed breeds I have ever seen. I normally don't want mixed breeds but all I can say is that I am looking for another. Would like to buy another boy. I don't want to go into the breeding. I would not call this a mutt. Very smart love able, family member. If you find someone who has this litter please have them contact me. I will say I don't buy from stores only from individuals. Thanks.
